How your tummy tuck is performed
During the tummy tuck, the layers of skin, fat and muscle are separated from each other. In a mini tummy tuck, the excess skin below your navel is removed and the remaining part is then re-tightened. During major abdominoplasty, more skin is removed, and the navel must be repositioned. If the abdominal muscles are too weak, they can also be retightened.
It is also possible to remove fat at the same time with liposuction. If you wish, you can discuss this with the attending physician responsible for your tummy tuck, who will advise you according to your personal situation.
